"Salone Contract: the New Connection between Design and Business", Torre PwC, Milan - Ph. Marco Mezzani
Report of the event on Friday 9 October, the first stage of the itinerary of discussion devoted to the debut of Salone Contract towards the 2027 edition
“Salone Contract: the New Connection between Design and Business” is the title of the event held on Friday 9 October at the PwC Tower in Milan. The appointment represents the first official stage of the itinerary of discussion and research that accompanies the debut of Salone Contract as we approach the 65th edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, scheduled from 13 to 18 April 2027.
Salone Contract is developed as a strategic platform to directly connect the excellence of the design industry with the demand for major international projects, from hospitality to workplace, nautical, residential and retail developments. Giving architectural and curatorial shape to this new event will be the masterplan designed by Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten / OMA, conceived as a veritable exchange hub structured on four spatial devices: Dome, Podium, Project Space and B2B areas.
The event, hosted by PwC, whose collaboration will continue through proprietary research, was opened by the institutional greetings from Marco Sabetta, Director General of the Salone del Mobile.Milano; Sandro Bicocchi, Partner | Research Department, PwC Italy; Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and Luca Palermo, CEO of FLAE and Salone del Mobile.Milano.
This was followed by the round table entitled “Contract Market as an accelerator of growth and diversification”, moderated by Antonio Martino, Partner PwC Italia, real estate advisory leader, with a discussion between Giorgio Lazzaro, Senior fellow of SDA Bocconi, Senior Advisor of Citylife; Luca Mangia, General Manager Coima REM and Valeriano Antonioli, CEO of Lungarno Collection and Portrait Hotels and Resorts, who explored the evolution of the contract market as an accelerator of growth and value for the real estate and design supply chain.
